How to Free Up Space on your Device

If you are getting an error stating the photo you just took could not be saved, out of storage space.  Then you will need to delete some things from your device in order to make more room.  There are a few options on what to delete and where to look; detailed below.

iOS

Delete Pruvan Photos

  1. Open the Pruvan Direct Mobile app
  2. Tap on the blue 'i' next to the upload status (on the log in screen)
  3. Tap 'Clean Up'
  4. Tap 'Yes, free up space'

**This will only delete photos that have successfully uploaded to the Pruvan Servers

Discover what Apps are Taking Up the Most Space on your Device

  1. Open the Settings app
  2. Tap 'General'
  3. Tap 'Storage and iCloud Usage'
  4. Look under Storage and select Manage Storage
  5. Apps that are taking up the most storage will be listed first
  6. Delete the apps that are using up too much storage space

Android

Delete Pruvan Photos

  1. Open the Pruvan Mobile
  2. Tap Choose Project
  3. Tap the Gallery icon (square w/ mountain silhouette)
  4. Tap 'Clean Up'
  5. Tap 'Yes'

**This will only delete photos that have successfully uploaded to the Pruvan Servers

Discover what Apps are Taking Up the Most Space on your Device

  1. Open your system settings (the settings app)
  2. Under Device, tap 'Storage'
  3. This will break down how much space is used by file type:
    • Available:  This is how much free space you have
    • Apps:  Tapping this will take you to the Apps screen, sorted by file size
    • Pictures, Videos:  Tapping this will open your default Gallery app
    • Audio:  Tapping this will open the 'Open From' dialogue, tap 'Audio' to see a list of your audio files
    • Downloads:  Tapping this will open your Downloads app, choose 'Sort by Size' from the sort menu
    • Cached Data:  Tapping this will bring up a prompt to clear all cached data
    • Misc:  Tapping this will bring up a list of misc files and their file size
  4. Delete apps or files that are using up too much space
